Jalpa was a former student at Langley Park Girls School when she was murdered at just 13 years of age in June 2003. Her father, who drowned her in the bathtub of their house in Shirley was charged with manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey in 2004. He has since been ordered to a mental hospital.
Jalpa was my friend and we met at summer school two years before the incident. She will always be missed and i'll always remember the dance routines that she taught me. You were and always will be one of the most beautiful people I have ever met.
Our condolences should go out to her sister and her mother.
